Program Title: Live Action Angry Birds

Attendance: 12

Preparation time: 15 Minutes

Supplies: Empty boxes, water balloon slingshot,  6 medium-sized balls

What we did:

We borrowed some empty boxes from Technical Services.  We got the plastic balls from Walmart and we already had the sling shot (Click!) which you can find at any toy store or amazon!  We made a large space within our teen room and set up the boxes.  Two teens held the slingshot while a third pulled it back and let loose! It took some practice to figure out the best way to hold the ball in place and how far to pull back, etc.  We gave each teen three chances to knock over the 'pigs'.

Surprisingly enough the teens had more fun resetting the boxes and pigs after each run.  They enjoyed constructing different designs and making them sturdy to add some difficulty.  The teens took turns holding the slingshot and retrieving the stray 'birds'.  It was easy and successful and even educational as they tried different architectural designs to see how sturdy and strong they could make it!
