As we gear up for this year’s Conference, it’s time to think about the future leadership of AzLA. Each year seats for voting members of the Executive Board become available and new officers are elected by the entire AzLA membership. This year we are looking for candidates for Southern Regional Representative, Northern Regional Representative, Secretary, and President-elect.
Please consider putting your name forward, and/or encouraging colleagues whose leadership track record (or potential) would be valuable to AzLA. While official information is available via the AzLA Handbook, I would encourage you to contact the person currently in the position and/or one of the Presidents (Current – Amber, Prez-elect – Sandy, Past – me) about what the positions entail. Each elected officer must have been a voting member of the Association the twelve (12) months immediately preceding his / her running for office. Regional representatives must reside in the region they represent.
We also need to be sure all our Divisions, Interest Groups, and Committees have chairs and members enough to function. These are good places to start with AzLA, if you haven’t been actively involved in the past.
So, if you (or someone you know) is interested in serving in any of these positions, please send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org with contact information, by Wednesday, September 7th.
