2009 Arizona Library Legislative Day

14th Annual Arizona Library Legislative Day at the Arizona State Capitol

You are cordially invited to participate in Library Legislative Day!

Thursday, April 30, 2009  8:30am to 4:00pm
Senate Minority Caucus Room, Senate Building, Arizona State Capitol (go right upon entering Senate Building to the first door on the right)

On Library Legislative Day, librarians and library supporters from across the state come together to meet with their elected officials and discuss issues of importance to their local libraries.  It provides an excellent opportunity to establish a relationship with your elected officials, so that you can reconnect with them in the future to follow up on bills and important issues.

AzLA voices need to be heard sharing information about the:

  • Importance of libraries in the community
  • Needs of local libraries
  • Importance of school libraries in student success
  • Great programs and activities taking place @ your library

If we don’t speak up for libraries, who will? Join us and bring you library supporters, library board members, Friends of your library, and information about your library to add to your district packets. Call your Representatives and Senator to schedule a personal appointment.

Register to attend Arizona Library Legislative Day. There is a $10.00 registration fee for Library Legislative Day, payable only on the morning of April 30.

Can’t come to Phoenix?  You can still participate by organizing library supporters in your community to phone, fax and email elected officials on April 30!  A Virtual Library Legislative Day communicates the needs of libraries to the House and Senate and increases the impact of Library Legislative Day!
