Library of the Year
This award recognizes an outstanding library or library system that has demonstrated excellence in service, innovation, leadership, and community impact. This award honors a library that has made significant contributions to advancing its mission through exceptional programs, services, and partnerships. It celebrates libraries that inspire others through creativity, innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its users. Eligible libraries may be of any type in the state of Arizona, including academic, public, school, archives, tribal or other libraries. Nominees should demonstrate achievements made within the past year while reflecting a broader commitment to outstanding library service and professional excellence.

Emerging Leader AwardThis award is open to any individual working in a library who shows exceptional promise as a leader in the field. The purpose of the award is to recognize individuals with strong leadership potential to encourage them to take on roles of increasing responsibility in library work.Newton & Betty Rosenzweig Distinguished ServiceThis award is presented to an active or retired layperson or librarian who has significant accomplishments and leadership over the past five years in Arizona. Emphasis is placed on effectiveness institutionally, regionally or state-wide.Outstanding Services in Academic Libraries AwardThis award is given to an individual at a university, college, or community college library who provides exemplary services, collection management and programs for students, staff and faculty. Nominees must demonstrate notable and outstanding performance in producing, developing and promoting programs, services, and collections in their academic libraries. |
Outstanding Services in Public Libraries AwardThis award is given to an individual at a public library who provides exemplary services, collection management and programs for their community. Nominees must demonstrate notable and outstanding performance in producing, developing and promoting programs, services, collections, and reading activities for patrons of any age group in their public libraries and communities. |
Outstanding Services in Archives Award
This award is given to an individual at an archival institution or in an archival setting who provides exemplary services, collection management and programs for their community. Nominees must demonstrate notable and outstanding performance in processing and preserving archival materials and promoting greater public awareness of archives and the archival profession.Outstanding Services in K-12 School Libraries Award
This award is given to an individual at a K-12 library who provides exemplary services, collection management and programs for students and staff. Nominees must demonstrate notable and outstanding performance in producing, developing and promoting programs, services, collections, and reading activities for students and staff at their K-12 libraries.Follett School Librarian of the Year
This award is given to an individual who serves as a model for implementing the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National Standards. Follett School Library Resources sponsors this award and gifts a $500 Title wave voucher to the Arizona Teacher Librarian award recipient. Nominees must be certified school library media specialists in Arizona who demonstrate notable or outstanding performance in the areas of collaboration with classroom teachers, educational leadership, technology, and advocacy for school libraries.Sharon G. Womack Outstanding Library Technician
This award is given to an individual who has served as a model of the important role that the paraprofessional plays in providing quality library service and has demonstrated the integral part the library technician performs within a library system.Library Volunteer of the Year
This award is open to any individual or group serving in a volunteer capacity in any library. Nominees should exemplify exceptional library service. Emphasis will be placed on activities that go beyond the standard requirements of good library service and the nominee's investment of personal time.Outreach Services Award
The Little Chapel of All Nations, Tucson, provides a monetary award to the library staff member or team that provides exemplary library outreach services to unserved, underserved, or minority populations. Nominees must demonstrate notable and outstanding performance in producing, developing and promoting programs, services, collections, and reading activities for the unserved, underserved, or minority populations of their community.
Innovation in Technology
This award recognizes an innovative technology program that focuses on digital tools and technical systems. It recognizes programs that creatively apply new or existing technologies to streamline library operations, boost digital literacy, improve user experience, or make digital resources more accessible. To qualify, the program must demonstrate creativity, high quality, and a positive public relations impact, while embodying the values of education, equity, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. This award is open to all library types.Innovation in Research
This award recognizes an innovative research program that focuses on inquiry, investigation, and knowledge creation. It recognizes those who design creative research initiatives that address community needs, explore new educational ideas, or uncover valuable information. To qualify, the program must demonstrate creativity, high quality, and a positive public relations impact, while embodying the values of education, equity, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. This award is open to all library types.Innovation in Community
This award recognizes an innovative community program that focuses on engaging with, empowering, and building partnerships within the library’s community. To qualify, the program must demonstrate creativity, high quality, and a positive public relations impact, while embodying the values of education, equity, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. This award is open to all library types.
