Program Description

This presentation will focus on the important of marketing library collections. Multiple methods and first hand experience will be shared on how to create visual displays, signage, and social media posts to boost circulation and increase literacy.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to explain the benefits of making library collections visually appealing.
  • Participants will be able to identify several ways to market a library collection online and in person.
  • Participants will be able to apply their skills to their own library collections to increase circulation.

Presenter Bio

Kiyoshi Parke has spent the last 5 years in public libraries, working to provide programming and engaging spaces for kids and teens. She has organized large-scale family events, helped design youth and teen library spaces, and was at the forefront of virtual programming for Maricopa County. She continues to improve library services as well as staff training for positive interactions with kids and teens. She has worked for the Phoenix Public Library and Maricopa County Library District. She has held roles as a Youth Librarian, Youth Services Supervisor, and is currently working as a Library Operations Supervisor for the City of Glendale.
