The Mission Statement of AzLA

The mission of the Arizona Library Association shall be to promote library service and librarianship in libraries of all types in the state of Arizona.

AzLA Accomplishments

  • Developed statewide materials purchasing contracts
  • Lobbied and obtained the end of use taxes on books
  • Provide continuing education credits for school librarians
  • Sponsor the Horner Fellowship
  • Provide regional forums to obtain statewide input to the association
  • Nominate young librarians to the Snowbird Leadership Institute

Professional Development Webinar Series


Webinar Description:  

This program equips participants with practical tools to confidently handle challenging behaviors, communicate effectively in high-pressure situations, and reduce conflict in the workplace. Through real-world scenarios and proven techniques, participants learn how to stay calm, set boundaries, and foster productive relationships.

Outcomes:

  • Recognize different types of difficult behaviors and their triggers

  • Respond calmly and assertively in challenging interactions

  • Reduce conflict and improve collaboration

  • Build confidence in managing tough conversations


Presenter: 

Tina J. Packard, MBA, draws on over two decades of experience in library administration and leadership roles, currently serving as the founder of Packard Consulting LLC in Casa Grande, AZ and working as the Young Adult Librarian at Vista Grande Public Library. 

With a robust background spanning from directing public libraries and managing educational resources to coordinating web services, Tina excels in technologies, change management, human resource management, finance oversight, and employee development. 

Holding a Master's in Information Science & Learning Technologies and an MBA in Human Resource Management, Tina combines academic rigor with practical expertise to deliver strategic solutions tailored to organizational needs. Her contributions extend beyond consultancy, encompassing active roles in community organizations and professional associations, where she continues to drive innovation and excellence in library services and business administration.
